Vellum Soup Pot Setup (Small Scale Liquid Setup)

Vellum Soup Pot is my reply to a Reddit post where someone was struggling with FLIP for small-scale liquid simulation.

Honestly, wrestling with FLIP on small-scale setups might not be the best approach. FLIP is great for large-scale simulations, but when you're just trying to simulate something like food or tabletop items, it can be overkill. In those cases, MPM or Vellum might save you time and frustration—especially since FLIP is designed for bigger setups and voxel sizes.

Here’s the setup I used. It runs smoothly on an RTX 4090 Ti—just 36 seconds to simulate over 100K particles. Super usable. Unlike my experience on the RTX 2080 Ti, where Houdini kept hanging and particles were shooting everywhere. Maybe that GPU just isn’t cut out for Vellum fluid.
